Saturday Blog Hop: Casing Libby 2025

Writer's picture: loritamariecraftsloritamariecrafts

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! For our current theme, we are continuing to case each other's cards. Casing means to copy or create using a similar look to the original card. This week is all about Libby! I found this card that I loved from last year. It's so simple, but really elegant. I love the pop of blue, which isn't a colour that I tend to use a lot so it was a good challenge for me.

Stampin' Up!

To go with the same kind of organic look that she used, I decided to use the Country Flowers Bundle which was fun to pull out again. I loved this layout too as it is simple and easy to adapt.

Materials Used

These were the main inspiration for my card:

  • Colour Combo: White, Blueberry Bushel & Garden Green.

  • Bundle: Country Flowers.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Card Base:

    1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".

    2. Cut Basic White cardstock to 3 3/4" x 4". Emboss with the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder and add to card.

  2. Sentiment:

    1. Cut a 4" x 3/4" piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and heat emboss the sentiment along the bottom. I love this simple sentiment from 'Country Flowers' and the small size of the font.

    2. Add to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  3. Decorative Elements:

    1. Stamp the teapot and plant leaves in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

      1. Colour the teapot with Blueberry Bushel ink using a Blending Brush.

      2. Colour the leaves of the plant with Garden Green ink using a Blending Brush.

      3. TIP: This is a great way to add colour to an image if you don't have these colours in the Stampin' Blends!

    2. Add to card with Dimensionals.

    3. Add a few gems. These are the Opal Rounds Assortment.

Thanks Libby for this great card idea!
