Saturday Blog Hop: Casing Melissa 2025

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! For our current theme, we are continuing to case each other's cards. Casing means to copy or create using a similar look to the original card. This week we are casing Melissa! I chose this card she made recently with the Birthday Celebration Bundle.

I loved the layout she used with the elongated focal point and the focus on some lighter colours . . . so pretty!

Materials Used

These were the main inspiration for my card:

• Colour Combo: Pretty in Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive.

• DSP: Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Card Base:

   1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".

   2. Cut Soft Sea Foam cardstock to 3 1/4" x 5". Emboss with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder and layer on top of a 3 3/8" x 5 1/8" piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock. Add to card front.

2. Decorative Elements: 

   1. It was fun to keep it simple and use this awesome die cut from the 'Wildflower Birthday' Specialty DSP as the main focal point for the card. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.

3. Sentiment:

   1. Stamp any sentiment on Basic White cardstock and cut out with circle die from the 'Spotlight on Nature' Dies. My sentiment comes from the 'My Small Business' Stamp Set.

   2. Add to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

   
   

You can finish off the card with a bit of twine and your favourite gems. Thanks Melissa for the pretty card idea!
