Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! This week our theme was 'Latch Cards'. I'm not sure I've ever made this type of card before, so it was fun to try it out! I went for a fun and bold fall theme to ease myself into some fall crafting!
Materials Used
To make this card, I used a combination of fun and vibrant materials:
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Nature's Sweetness
Colour Combo: Shy Shamrock and Pumpkin Pie
Stamp Set & Dies: Autumn Leaves (a returning favourite!)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Card Base: Cut Thick Basic White to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score at 2 1/4" and 6 1/2".
Add DSP: Cut the Nature's Sweetness DSP to fit the front panels of the card. The left side is 2" x 5 1/4" and the right is 1 3/4" x 5 1/4". (Same on the inside)
Create the Latch: Cut a leaf from Shy Shamrock DSP using the Autumn Leaves Dies, adding the Pumpkin Pie leaf detail. Add to card with dimensionals on the left side only. Stamp and emboss sentiment on Shy Shamrock cardstock and cut it using a coordinating die. Cut out another leaf in Pumpkin Pie and add it on right side. (This will create the latch)
Assemble the Latch: Attach the sentiment to the left side of the gate fold. Ensure the sentiment tucks behind the leaf to keep the card closed.
Final Touches: Add additional leaves and embellishments as desired to complete the fall theme.
The combination of the simple background with the cheerful colours makes this a fun card for showcasing the beauty of fall. I hope you feel inspired to create your own version of this card! Here are the main products that I used:
