Saturday Blog Hop: Thanksgiving

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! Well, Halloween is over and we are moving on to what can feel like the busiest time of year. Our Thanksgiving is already over in Canada, but it's always a good time to be thankful and send someone a note telling them how much you appreciate them!

For my project this week, I saw a card with a similar colour scheme and I loved the look of it. It was fun to just mix some neutral colours and natural elements together.

Stampin' Up! Fall and Thanksgiving Card Ideas
Materials Used

I mixed & matched from a few different sets to make this card:

  • Stamp Sets: Changing Leaves (Item 164351) & Autumn Leaves (Item 162179)

  • Colour Combo: Black, Pecan Pie & Metallics

  • Paper: Country Woods DSP (Item 163393) & Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP (Item 162616)

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Card Base:

    1. Cut Thick Basic White to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".

    2. Cut DSP to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" to cover the whole card front.

  2. Details:

    1. Choose a few different shapes to create the focal point on the card. I cut out the circle (Spotlight on Nature Dies) from the Nature's Sweetness DSP and added it to the card front.

    2. Next was the leaves. I cut out the leaf shapes from the Changing Leaves Dies and then stamped the larger one in Memento Tuxedo Black and the smaller one in Pecan Pie. I then layered them on top on the circle.

    3. I cut about 6" of Black Baker's Twine, folded it in half and layered it next with some copper leaves. (Cut out of the Oxidized Copper Paper with the Changing Leaves Dies)

    4. Any sentiment would look great. This one comes from the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set.

    5. Lastly, I added a few gems from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots.

I hope this card inspires you to mix and match some natural elements together on your card to create a really beautiful look!
