Saturday Blog Hop: The Blues Brothers

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! This week's movie title inspiration is 'The Blues Brothers'. Believe it or not, I'm not naturally drawn to blue when I'm creating, but in this case I was so excited to break into my package of the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper. It is just so beautiful! I love every pattern in it.

Stampin' Up! Wildly Flowering DSP

To focus on the blue, I used Misty Moonlight as my card base. Then I used one of the solid blue patterns of the DSP as the background for the card, cut to 4" x 5 1/4". The next pattern of DSP was cut to 4" x 4", but before I adhered it to the card, I added a little 1/2" strip of Wild Wheat cardstock and then wrapped some Linen Thread around it to tie a bow off to the left.

I am loving the Friends for Life Stamp Set right now and wanted to use it on this card as well. I coloured a 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" piece of Basic White with a bit of Misty Moonlight using a Blending Brush. Then I stamped the word 'Best' overtop, also in Misty Moonlight. I used the same technique with 'wishes' and fussy cut it out for better layering. The card was finished off with a few gems! (Tinsel-Gems Three Pack)
