Saturday Blog Hop: Winter Friends

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! This week we are having fun with winter critters. I could have chosen bears or penguins or reindeer, but I just can't resist the birds!

Materials Used

These were the main inspiration for my card. You can also click the link below to see all the products used to make this card:

• DSP: Nests of Winter DSP. This paper will be continuing on and I can't wait to use it all winter!

• Colour Combo: Crumb Cake, Shaded Spruce & Real Red.

• Special Addition: Stampin' Blends. When you need an embellishment in a specific colour, Stampin' Blends come to the rescue! I coloured some clear sparkle gems on this card to get just the colour I was looking for,.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Card Base:

   1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".

   2. Cut DSP to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".

   3. Cut out largest circle from the 'Spotlight on Nature' Dies. Add onto DSP, just slightly off the edge and then trim off the excess. Now, add the DSP to the card front.

2. Details:

   1. Fussy cut out a couple of your favourite birds from the Nests of Winter DSP. Add them onto the card using dimensionals.

   2. Tuck in your favourite Christmas sentiment. I like to heat emboss mine to make it pop off the card a bit more.

   3. Add in a few gems.
