Saturday Blog Hop: Wishing For Spring

Writer: loritamariecraftsloritamariecrafts

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! I love this week's theme as it is something that I can really relate to - Wishing for Spring! It's now officially the season of Spring, but now I just need the weather to cooperate!

I recently had a class where I made favours featuring the 'Mixed Florals' Bundle and I loved it so much that I took some of the idea and turned it into the card for this week.

Stampin' Up! Mixed Florals Stamp Set. Spring card idea

Materials Used

These were the main inspiration for my card:

  • Colour Combo: Petunia Pop & Daffodil Delight! This is my go-to colour combo for Spring at the moment and I'm loving it!

  • Bundle: Mixed Florals. I love the large tulip image, it's really all you need to make an amazing card!

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Card Base:

    1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".

    2. Cut Petunia Pop Two-Tone Cardstock to 3 3/4' x 5". Adhere to card with the lighter side up.

  2. Decorative Elements:

    1. Stamp tulip image in black. Colour in with Stampin' Blends in Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Bubble Bath & Petunia Pop. Cut out with coordinating die. Adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

    2. Cut 12" of Daffodil Delight ribbon, fold in thirds and add onto card.

    3. Cut a piece of DSP in Petunia Pop (I used the 'Unbounded Beauty DSP) to 4" x 1" and add to card.

  3. Sentiment:

    1. Stamp sentiment in Black, cut to size and layer on top of DSP.

    2. Layer on some cute Starburst Sequins and you're done!
