There are some paper crafting supplies that as soon as you see them you know you can't wait to play with them and get creative. That's how I felt when I saw the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder in Stampin' Up!'s January to April 2024 Mini Catalogue.
I love a good sentiment and I love this idea of being able to emboss and cut out a whole variety of sentiments all at once.
It's definitely a product that needs a little explanation, so be sure to check out the replay of my weekly YouTube Live at the bottom of this post.
I highly recommend getting the Stampin' Brayer to go along with this product so you can get the most out of the embossing folder. In my video I share a few different tips & ideas of how you can cut out the sentiments and how to add colour to them.
On this first card, I added Azure Afternoon ink to the sentiment after it was embossed. It was fun to use some bright colours and pair it up with this adorable cotton candy from the Carnival Treats Host Stamp Set.
Here I used the brayer in 2 different ways. You can use any black & white patterned paper (this is from the Zoo Crew DSP) and add colour to it with the brayer. I love how uneven and abstract it looks to give fun texture to the background.
This time the sentiment shows a tone on tone technique, plus you can see how you can add a shadow behind it to really make it pop off your card.
Another way to use the Thoughtful Moments folder is to add ink before you cut out to create an outline. Then you can colour it in with your Stamipin' Blends in any colour. So much fun!
